I cannot say enough about the young woman who recently completed building my website. Even more remarkable is the fact that during this time of Covid, this was accomplished entirely by email with the occasional dropping off of a thumb drive in her mailbox. After giving Leanne some tentative ideas concerning what I would like to see on the site, she got creative and produced exactly what I wanted and then some when she linked Instagram to my site. Not being tech savvy in any way, Leanne was more than patient with my lack of computer knowledge. I would not hesitate to recommend her skills to other artists who might be interested in her services. Her fees are reasonable and affordable. She can be reached at lemills3@gmail.com.

For the most part, I am a self teaching painter in watercolours. Although I loved drawing in my childhood, it was my high school art teacher who gave me a grounding in this medium. From there, I went to university for several years before quitting, thoroughly depressed. It was in taking up my paint, brushes, and paper that I kept the mental wolves at bay in addition to spending many hours and days rambling around and exploring the beautiful grasslands and urban areas of the Kamloops region. This activity, I still pursue.

My first solo exhibition and sale was in 1984 at a private gallery followed by several more over the ensuing years. With the demise of most small galleries, I became involved with the Kamloops Arts Council, used a Facebook page for posting new paintings (until it disappeared into some digital abyss last Fall), and became a vendor at the Kamloops Farmer's Market 7 seasons ago. There, I sell my art cards and prints from May till September and paint during the other months. Becoming absorbed into a work in progress is the best part of being alive.
